About Us
We are a 65-person architecture firm delivering high-quality design across residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. With a strong pipeline of work, we are focused on improving our profitability and financial visibility. To support this, we are seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) / Specialist to help us forecast invoicing, set clear monthly targets, and integrate financial insights into how we run projects.
Role Overview
This role will work closely with the Directors, Finance Manager, and Project Leads to develop a forecasting model that links project stages and fees to a clear, achievable monthly invoicing target. You will establish reporting tools and processes that enable the leadership team to make informed decisions and direct teams to hit financial goals.
This can be structured as an ongoing part-time or full-time arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse our current project pipeline, stage-based fees, and historical invoicing trends.
- Build a dynamic monthly invoicing forecast model, incorporating project milestones, fee schedules, and potential risks.
- Develop firm-wide and team-level invoicing targets to ensure minimum monthly billing thresholds are achieved.
- Create easy-to-use dashboards and reports (Excel) for tracking progress in real time.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve profitability, utilisation, and fee recovery.
- Train internal staff to maintain and update the forecasting model.
Key Deliverables
- Forecasting model tailored to our firm's projects and fee structures.
- Monthly invoicing dashboard with firm-wide and team-level breakdowns.
- Reporting framework for tracking performance against targets.
About You
- Proven experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or Management Accounting, ideally within professional services.
- Strong skills in financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting tools.
- Commercially minded — able to translate numbers into clear operational actions.
- Confident communicator who can work with both finance teams and project leaders.
- Ability to deliver both strategic recommendations and practical, easy-to-use tools.
