About Geriatric Care Australia (GCA)

GCA is a national, profit-for-purpose driven organisation uniting geriatricians, GPs, nurses, and digital health innovations to deliver high-quality, integrated models of care for older Australians. Started almost four years ago, GCA is a growing organisation committed to improving both clinical and economic outcomes for patients by working in partnership with government, residential aged care homes (RACHs), and technology partners. Through these collaborations, we improve access to care, reduce inequities, and enable healthier ageing for communities across Australia.

Role Purpose

The Business Development Manager (Aged Care Programs & Partnerships) will be responsible for building and managing strategic partnerships, securing government and provider-funded agreements, and overseeing the design and delivery of innovative aged care programs. The role sits at the intersection of business development, program delivery, and aged care system innovation, working closely with clinical teams and external stakeholders to expand access to care and drive measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Partnerships & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with PHNs, DoHAC, state health departments, RACHs, and community organisations - act as a key liaison on aged care innovation projects.
  • Identify and secure new funding opportunities, service agreements, and partnerships aligned with GCA's mission.
  • Develop proposals, business cases, and grant submissions with university partners to support growth and sustainability.

Program & Project Delivery

  • Lead the implementation of commissioned projects and service agreements, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Work with multidisciplinary clinical teams to co-design and operationalise new models of care – including internal and external projects.
  • Monitor program KPIs and provide clear reporting to funders, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy

  • Represent GCA at external meetings, forums, and conferences, position GCA as a thought leader in aged care service delivery and digital health integration.
  • Drive productive Internal Relationships: CEO, CMO, Medical Director, Operations Manager, geriatricians, GPs, RNs, Care Coordinators.

About You

  • Proven experience in partnerships, business development, or program management within aged care, healthcare, or health policy.
  • Deep understanding of the aged care landscape, including PHNs, RACHs, and government commissioning.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to balance strategic vision with operational delivery.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with credibility across government, community, and industry sectors.
  • Passion for innovation in aged care, with experience or interest in digital health, AI, or integrated models of care.

Remuneration

A competitive base salary will be offered proportionate with experience. In addition, a performance-based incentive structure will reward achievement of key revenue and program delivery outcomes. As a profit-for-purpose organisation, GCA reinvests surpluses to expand services and impact, and a Business Development Manager (Aged Care Programs & Partnerships) will play a central role in that mission.
