The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia's independent expert regulator for health and safety, structural integrity, well integrity and environmental management for all offshore energy operations and greenhouse gas storage activities in Commonwealth waters, and in coastal waters where regulatory powers and functions have been conferred.
NOPSEMA also administers the functions of the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator (OIR), for the offshore renewables industry. This includes the regulation of work health and safety, infrastructure integrity, and environmental management for offshore renewable energy infrastructure activities.

We are currently looking for Principal Advisors to develop, support and deliver regulatory implementation in accordance with the Offshore Electricity Infrastructure (OEI) Act Framework. About the role:
You will join a Perth or Melbourne based collaborative team working to deliver the functions of the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator.
You will lead and contribute to the development of frameworks, policies, processes and procedures to support effective regulation in line with the requirements of the Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Act 2021 (OEI Act) and its regulations.
You will engage and collaborate with internal and external industry and government stakeholders to enable and effectively regulate the emerging offshore renewables sector.
In this role, you will also assist in the coordination and delivery of assessments, inspections and investigations.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Experience in implementing, administering and/or operating under regulatory frameworks relevant to WHS, infrastructure integrity, environmental management and/or financial securities in the offshore resources or renewables sectors.
Expertise in developing guidance and operating procedures to facilitate regulatory and/or business operations.
Experience in providing advice on regulatory requirements to facilitate resolution of complex problems.
Knowledge of the OEI Act and/or regulatory frameworks.
Hold tertiary qualifications and/or 5-10 years' experience in government, public policy and administration or the private sector with a focus on WHS, infrastructure integrity and environmental management.
