About the Role

We are seeking a talented and self-driven Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a part-time, project-based basis. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys variety, problem solving, and seeing R&D concepts evolve from scope to delivery. You are a good communicator with detailed work and enjoy working under your own supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scope out and plan R&D tasks with defined deliverables and milestones.
  • Design and develop components using Fusion 360 or equivalent CAD software.
  • Prepare detailed parts lists, source suppliers, and place orders with manufacturers.
  • Contribute to a range of small and large-scale R&D projects across multiple disciplines.
  • Work independently from home, delivering outcomes on agreed timelines.

About You

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong capability in CAD design (Fusion 360 or similar).
  • Practical knowledge of R&D project lifecycles – from concept to prototype.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to deliver without supervision.
  • Comfortable working to milestone-based agreements rather than hourly billing.
