About Leonardo.Ai

At Leonardo.Ai, we're building one of the world's most advanced generative-AI platforms, empowering millions of people to create high-quality images and videos in seconds. Now part of the Canva family, we're scaling quickly and designing the systems that will keep creativity limitless for hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

We're looking for our first Head of Insights, a foundational leader who will shape how we understand, learn from, and support the global community of creatives who rely on our platform every day. This is a rare moment: the chance to build an insights function at the exact point a generative-AI company enters its next chapter.

The Role

As Leonardo grows, our data ecosystem is expanding in scope, complexity and opportunity. Different teams hold different pieces of insight, from detailed product analytics to deep customer understanding, but we don't yet have a unified engine that brings it all together. You will help us create that clarity.

You'll design the systems and best practices that allow us to make decisions grounded in trusted metrics, a shared understanding, and a deeper view of the creators we serve. Partnering with Product, Growth, Marketing, Sales, Engineering and Finance teams, you'll turn data into opportunities, which we'll act on with fast, confident action.

Your leadership will help us evolve from multiple parallel insight streams into a cohesive, insight-led organisation.

What You'll Do

Build a Cohesive Insights Function

  • Shape and lead a unified insights capability across Product, Marketing, Growth and Analytics, creating a single, trusted source of truth that aligns teams around shared metrics and priorities.
  • Bring analysts, data specialists and researchers together into a high-performing team, establishing consistent standards, a clear operating rhythm and scalable self-serve foundations.

Strengthen Confidence in Our Metrics

  • Build robust guardrails, checks and data workflows that ensure accuracy and transparency, giving leaders instant confidence in the metrics that guide strategic decisions.
  • Partner with Engineering to evolve our data pipelines and infrastructure so trends, shifts and anomalies surface early — enabling the organisation to act quickly and with clarity.

Turn Insights Into Clear, Executive-Ready Guidance

  • Define and maintain core activation, engagement, retention and monetisation metrics, translating complex data into intuitive narratives that help Product, Growth and SLT teams make fast, informed decisions.
  • Identify leading indicators, behavioural patterns and attribution signals that sharpen strategic focus and reveal the most impactful levers for growth.

Build a Rich, Evidence-Based Understanding of Our Users

  • Lead customer segmentation and persona development by combining quantitative data with qualitative research, giving the entire company a shared understanding of who our users are and what they value.
  • Connect user behaviour to product decisions, marketing strategies and commercial outcomes, ensuring teams prioritise with clarity rather than assumption.

Accelerate How Quickly the Organisation Learns

  • Build automated dashboards, health views and daily insight systems that allow leaders to check business performance at a glance and take action with confidence.
  • Lead company-wide and quarterly reviews that surface trends, opportunities and challenges early, creating a culture of continuous learning and proactive decision-making.

Skills We Value

  • Depth in analytics across product, marketing or commercial performance
  • Experience scaling insights or analytics teams in high-growth environments
  • Technical fluency in SQL, data visualisation and the modern data stack
  • Range and adaptability — from hands-on work to shaping executive decisions
  • Storytelling with data that makes complexity feel clear, human and actionable
  • A builder's mindset — systems, clarity, empowerment, shared ownership
  • Experience with or willingness to learn tools such as Tableau, AWS Quicksight, Heap, GA4, Redshift, R/Python and Looker
