Australian Industrial Vacuum (AIV) is a well-established company based in Tullamarine, VIC, supplying industrial vacuum systems to a wide variety of industries.

We source innovative products from around the world and provide full support in the marketplace through onsite and back-to-base servicing.

We are seeking a hands-on, reliable individual with mechanical or auto-electrical experience to join our growing team as a Warehouse and Mechanical Assembler.

This is a full-time, on-site role, Monday to Friday.

Mechanical Assembler/Fitter Role:

You'll be part of a small, friendly workshop team responsible for the final assembly of trailers and ute-mounted vacuum systems, as well as assisting with warehouse operations.

This role involves practical mechanical and light auto-electrical work and the preparation of demo and custom-built vacuum systems to support our sales team.

You'll also liaise with the sales and service teams to prioritise builds, support demo setups, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and fit out trailers and ute-mounted vacuum systems
  • Install components such as belts, motors, and related mechanical/electrical parts
  • Prepare demo and service equipment for the sales team
  • Operate forklifts for loading and unloading (Forklift Licence ideal)
  • Maintain workshop organisation and cleanliness
  • Assist with warehouse logistics and general duties
  • Follow all workplace health and safety requirements

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • Enthusiasm and a desire to learn

  • Sound problem solving and fault finding ability
  • Ability to apply and adhere to workplace health and safety practices
  • 3rd-year apprentice or equivalent hands-on mechanical/auto-electrical experience is preferred
  • Current Australian driver's licence (required)
  • Forklift Licence (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and fault-finding ability
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
  • Able to work both independently and in a small team environment
  • Committed to safe and efficient work practices
