Yangan Cash & Carry are looking for local individuals who are eager to take on their first job to start developing their personal skills and future employment credentials alongside their educational and co-curricular activities.

About us

Yangan Cash & Carry (YCC) is a small, family-owned and run convenience store and country café located in Yangan, QLD (just 15 minutes outside of Warwick).

About the role

We are seeking friendly and enthusiastic people to join our friendly team as a Casual Junior Retail / Hospitality Assistant.

This role will provide an opportunity for you to grow and develop retail / hospitality occupational experience and personal skills. General shift duties include:

  • Operating a cash register
  • Customer service
  • Taking food orders
  • Cooking and preparing food and beverages
  • Stock management and control
  • Accounts management training
  • Shop management training
  • Cleaning and other ad hoc workplace duties, as required

*No prior experience is required. All training will be provided on site.

Role requirements

  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Be part of and gain respect in our small business team
  • Punctual, be well-presented and maintain great hygiene practices
  • A willingness to work hard, learn, grow and contribute within a team

  • Learn to make café beverages and skills using coffee machines
  • Learn to cook takeaway and dine-in meals within a professional kitchen
  • Learn to maintain high-level hygiene practices amongst a café and retail setting
  • Gain monetary skills with cash handling
  • Gain personal skills in decision making, communication, collaboration, self-confidence, punctuality and adaptability to situations.
  • An opportunity is available to complete a Certificate III in Business, Retail or Hospitality if desired by the right applicant.
