Step into an important leadership role at one of the region's most respected hospitals. Tamworth Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing and Midwifery (DONM) to join our Executive Team on a full-time temporary contract, providing steady, visionary leadership.

About the Role
As the DONM, you will provide professional leadership, strategic direction, and operational management for nursing and midwifery services in a busy tertiary hospital environment. You will:
- Lead a committed, skilled workforce to deliver safe, high-quality care that meets the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
- Drive a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability in nursing and midwifery practice.
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and performance management.
- Manage nursing and midwifery resources effectively to meet operational and patient flow targets.
- Represent nursing and midwifery interests at the highest levels, influencing policy and practice.
- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and strategic hospital initiatives.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in leadership and health management and/or extensive senior health service management experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading within complex hospital environments.
- Strong skills in industrial relations, workforce planning, and operational management.
- Proven ability to analyse clinical needs and implement innovative solutions.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A track record of driving cultural change and fostering high-performing teams.
