At Taronga Zoo in Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, we lead conservation efforts in the field and participate in regional and global conservation breeding programs to establish insurance populations for species threatened in the wild. We also operate two wildlife hospitals that treat and rehabilitate injured native wildlife, as well as providing best practice health care for the animals at our Zoos.

Job description:

• Full-time Temporary position (12 Months)
• Located at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo
• TCSA Salaried Employees Award, Clerk Grade 3/4, annual package ranging from $95,953 to $105,068 (includes base salary $84,659 - $92,701 + plus superannuation & leave loading)

Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo is looking for an experienced creative, dynamic and motivated Marketing Officer who is interested in joining a leading organisation in conservation, education, and transformational guest experiences.

You'll be at the heart of Taronga's marketing team, creating, curating and executing marketing content to engage Taronga' Western Plains Zoo's visitors and supporters before, during and after their visit. You'll leverage your digital and marketing skillset to deliver exceptional guest experiences onsite and execute marketing campaigns that deliver the right message at the right time via the right medium to drive revenue for the Zoo's range of products and experiences.

About the Role…

As the Marketing Officer, you'll execute various marketing campaigns to drive visitation and revenue to Taronga Western Plains Zoo, whilst working closely with the central marketing team in Sydney.

Key Accountabilities…

• Support the delivery of paid and owned marketing campaigns to drive General Admissions and Accommodation sales and bookings.
• Plan and execute local area marketing strategy to drive local GA and membership products and ensure TWPZ remains front of mind for the Dubbo audience and their VFR (Visiting Friends and Relatives).
• Provide marketing support and marketing assets across the Zoo's diverse portfolio of products including Guest Experience (Hire Centre, Tours and Encounters), Accommodation, Commercial Services (F&B and Events), and Education.
• Maintain and grow relationships with key local tourism stakeholders, including Dubbo Regional Council, to leverage destination marketing opportunities.
• Support the delivery of Taronga-specific marketing events and launches, including in-ground activations (including Corporate Partnerships) and promotional activities that enhance visitor engagement and brand visibility.
• Respond to marketing and advertising enquiries and ensure timely and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders on marketing and promotional activities.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on the performance of marketing activities, providing insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders to inform future strategy.
• Collaborate with TWPZ Media and Content Officer to identify and develop compelling content opportunities and assets that support marketing objectives, ensuring assets are optimised for use across paid, owned and earned channels to maximise reach and engagement.

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

• Minimum 3 years of Marketing or Advertising Agency Experience.
• Experience in content and media asset creation across multiple channels - digital, social, video, radio, print, POS, signage.
• Proficient in digital and media production specifications preferred.
• Ability to write editorial, social and advertising copy.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills, with an ability to juggle multiple projects.
• Experience in stakeholder management (internal and external partners).
