Cyber Security Architect

Location: QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW, SA

Join a high-impact team responsible for designing and evolving cyber security architecture that underpins a major federal agency's operations. This 12-month opportunity (with potential extensions) will see you take a strategic leadership role in shaping security systems and standards, embedding resilience and scalability across platforms and solutions. Your work will directly influence architectural risk mitigation, security frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain enterprise-wide security architecture aligned with strategic objectives and risk appetite
  • Develop security standards, reference architectures, and implementation guidelines to embed security in all solutions
  • Conduct architectural risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies aligned with business needs
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and policy frameworks (e.g., ISM, PSPF) across all architectural decisions

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and reviewing enterprise-wide cyber security architecture
  • Knowledge of Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM)
  • Experience working at EL1/EL2 or SFIA Level 5 equivalent in a strategic architecture role
  • Ability to drive collaboration between cyber security, architecture, and business teams
