Cyber Security Engineer

On behalf of my clients who operate in the Australian Defence sector I am currently looking for:

1 X Cyber Security Engineer / Technical Systems Engineer and

1 X Cyber Security Architect.

Both roles are being offered as long term day rate contracts and require that candidates hold a minimum of NV1 Australian security clearance and are based in (or willing to relocate to) Canberra.

Role Descriptions:

Position 1 - Cyber Security Engineer:

As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will be required to complete deliverables in accordance with current Defence cyber worthiness requirements, as amended from time to time, including but not limited to:

• Compliance with current cyber worthiness policies and guidance including ISO27001, Defence Security Principles Framework, Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and the Information Security Manual;
• Preparation of key project Cyber worthiness documentation including:
• Statement of Applicability (SOA) - SSP Annex A;
• System Security Plan (SSP)
• System Overview Document (SOD)
• Security Risk Management Plan (SRMP)
• Incident Response Plan
• Continuous Monitoring Plan

In addition to the above key documents, other deliverables may include, but are not limited to:

• System Risk Score
• Business Continuity Plan
• Disaster Recovery Plan
• Standard Operating Procedures
• Design and architecture documentation
• Security framework
• Provide ongoing cyber worthiness advice to project teams on an as required ongoing basis.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 8 + years' experience gained in a similar role within the Defence industry.
• Proven experience with reviewing and producing cyber security documentation.
• Well versed with ISO27991, PSPF and the Information Security Manual.
• NV1 or above clearance (please that we cannot consider candidates that do not have this.
• Be based in Canberra or be willing to relocate at your own cost.

Position 2 :

As the Cyber Security Architect, you will be working closely with the Cyber Security Manager and Product Manager for the successful development and delivery of a cyber security architecture and supporting documentation.

The role also involves substantial interaction with, and coordination of, ongoing consultation, engagement, and expectation management across:

• The Department of Defence
• Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG)
• CIOG security functions including security architecture and Certification and Accreditation authorities

Essential Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience working as a Security Specialist/Architect inside complex and large-scale ICT projects/programs
• Demonstrated experience working as a Security Specialist/Architect in a technical capacity with a thorough understanding of the technology stack
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing ICT and Cyber Security policies, frameworks, and industry standards, including but not limited to:
• Protective Security Principles Framework (PSPF)
• Information Security Manual (ISM)
• Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF)
• NIST SP-800 series
• ISO 27000 series
• Highly developed technical writing skills
• Highly self-motivated and able to work under broad direction to achieve directed outcomes
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with Defence and Defence Industry stakeholders
• NV1 or above clearance is MANDATORY.
• Candidates must be based in Canberra or be willing to relocate to Canberra (at your own cost).

Highly Desirable:

• Familiarity with Defence cyber-worthiness concepts
• Familiarity and experience using architecture frameworks and notation methods (e.g. DODAF, TOGAF, SABSA, UAF)
• Experience working in the Australian Department of Defence in a Technical, ICT, and Cyber Security role
• Familiarity with the One Defence Capability System
