The primary focus of this role is to enhance the quality of life of all elderly patients and maximise their independence and function.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Facilitator (Acute Care of the Elderly) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Proactively seek and promote all learning opportunities and support staff where required
  • Conduct clinical assessments and have an advanced level of knowledge in Geriatric
  • Be involved in professional development of self and others through in-services and workshops
  • Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team in providing evidence-based care

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

About Us

The Acute Care of the Elderly unit is located at Robina Hospital. It is a 28 Bed, Acute Care Unit for patients >65 years with Geriatric syndromes. We have a multidisciplinary team (MDT) which work to enhance the quality of life of all elderly patients and maximise their independence and function. The aim of the team is to enhance the health and wellness of each individual for the best possible quality of life.
