Application Monitoring Specialist New Relic

Location: Sydney

About the Role

We are seeking a technically skilled and proactive Application Monitoring Specialist with expertise in New Relic to support two mission-critical applications central to our clients restaurant operations myRestaurant and eOps.

While New Relic is already installed on the servers for both applications, alerting, dashboards, and reporting are yet to be configured. This role is pivotal in ensuring performance visibility, reliability, and a robust incident response framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with application owners to understand system architecture and critical performance aspects

  • Configure New Relic dashboards, alerts, and reports for both applications

  • Integrate alerts into the ServiceNow helpdesk process to ensure timely and accurate issue notification

  • Continuously refine alerting logic to ensure the right balance between responsiveness and noise reduction

  • Provide documentation and support handover to internal teams

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with New Relic APM and infrastructure monitoring

  • Proven ability to design and implement performance dashboards and alerting workflows

  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools, especially in alert integration

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications or distributed systems

  • Familiarity with performance tuning and monitoring best practices

  • Exposure to cloud environments and DevOps pipelines
