The South Pacific Division (SPD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is the administrative head office for the church in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and most of the South Pacific Island nations. The focus of this office as a Christian organisation is to be a catalyst for a disciple-making movement that enables people to follow Jesus Christ and serve the community.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SPD) Limited is seeking an experienced minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to equip and inspire church members and leaders to grow spiritually and actively engage in discipleship, evangelism, personal ministry, and community outreach through training, resources and mission-focused program. This full-time role will collaborate with relevant stakeholders across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the pacific island nations, as well as be the key discipleship, personal ministries and sabbath school liaison to the global church.

As the Director of Discipleship, Personal Ministries and Sabbath School, you will be an information and organisation professional excelling in the areas of cross-cultural communication, persuading, influencing, networking, innovation, as well as formulating strategies and applying expertise in discipleship, personal ministry and sabbath school curriculum.  As part of the Ministry and Strategy team at the South Pacific Division head office, this role will be based at the head office in Sydney, Australia.

Selection Criteria:

  • Must be a practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to the Church and its mission.
  • Must be an ordained / commissioned minister with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Professional training in theology and previous experience in a relevant area of ministry (i.e. discipleship, sabbath school, evangelism).
  • Strategic thinker with experience planning and implementing ministry initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and inspire spiritual growth.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities, with effective presentation skills.
  • Proven ability in church administration, budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Passion for evangelism, discipleship and community engagement.
