About RSPCA NSW

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals New South Wales (RSPCA NSW) is a not-for-profit animal welfare organisation. We provide a strong voice for animals experiencing cruelty and neglect. RSPCA NSW is committed to the care and welfare of animals, providing extensive professional facilities, including fully equipped veterinary hospitals and our state-wide shelter network, with approximately 500 staff across NSW to care for animals.

Why Work For Us?

  • A broad range of leave entitlements, including 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Access to a range of mental health and wellbeing supportive initiatives, including confidential counselling services and education programs
  • Generous discount on products and services, including pet food, retail, and vet clinic products and services
  • Access to a range of learning and development opportunities that will benefit and support you in your role
  • Staff parking and a newly renovated work environment.

RSPCA NSW is looking for a passionate and organised Community Engagement Coordinator to help reinvigorate local fundraising and volunteer activity across our Community Volunteer Groups (CVGs).

This is a hands-on support role, working closely with two Branch Managers to coordinate events, engage volunteers, and track key activities. You'll be a natural relationship-builder who loves bringing people together to create change—and doesn't mind rolling up your sleeves to make it happen

Every fundraising event or local initiative helps support our emergency vet assistance and low-cost desexing programs, ensuring people and animals in need get the help they deserve. Whether it's helping promote a Bunnings BBQ, coordinating a team at a local market, or recruiting and supporting new volunteers, you'll be at the heart of local impact.

Your Key Responsibilities- Coordinate local fundraising events and community activities led by CVGs

- Assist the Branch Managers with admin, volunteer recruitment, and monthly reporting

- Support volunteer engagement and help rebuild momentum in underactive areas

- Attend events and expos as needed to support volunteers and promote RSPCA programs

- Build strong relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, supporters, and the local community

About You

- You're organised, motivated, and enjoy seeing a plan come together

- You have experience working with volunteers or in community-facing roles

- You're confident with Microsoft Office and happy to travel across NSW

- You bring enthusiasm, empathy, and initiative to your work

Requirements

  • Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel, including to regional areas

  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends, including up to two Saturdays per month as required for events

  • Ability to attend and support community fundraisers, sometimes outside of standard hours

  • Comfortable with both independent work and being part of a collaborative team environment

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in community fundraising or local events

  • Confidence in engaging with diverse community groups and stakeholders

  • Creative thinking to help boost volunteer participation and fundraising opportunities

  • Understanding of the not-for-profit or animal welfare sector (an advantage, but not essential)

What We Offer

  • A role that creates meaningful, on-the-ground change

  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements

  • The opportunity to work with passionate teams and committed volunteers

  • A supportive culture grounded in RSPCA NSW's values of Compassion, Integrity, Courage, Collaboration, and Impact

  • Employee and Volunteer Assistance Program
