ABOUT US:
Solar Farm Constructions (SFC) is a growing contractor specialising in foundations, piling, drilling, batching and mechanical installation for utility-scale solar farms across Australia. We work with tier-one EPCs and developers and are known for practical problem-solving, strong site execution and getting work done safely and efficiently in tough conditions.
We're a fast-moving, hands-on team that values initiative, common sense and ownership. With a healthy pipeline of renewables work, we're expanding our delivery team to support new and ongoing projects.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, commercial management, and successful delivery of assigned projects from contract award through to handover. The PM is accountable for client interface, scheduling, sequencing of works, progress claims, contractual notices, financial performance, risk management, and ensuring the project is adequately resourced and compliant with safety, quality, and contractual obligations.
Projects are located nationwide. Regular travel and on-site presence are essential, with FIFO options available for the right candidate
Client interface & communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, superintendent, and principal contractor.
- Attend and contribute to all client meetings, progress meetings, and technical reviews.
- Provide required reporting including programs, progress updates, forecasts, quality documentation, and handover records.
- Manage RFIs, technical queries, instructions, and approvals.
- Maintain positive, professional relationships to support project outcomes and future work opportunities
Commercial & contractual management
- Understand the full contract scope, specifications, drawings, and deliverables.
- Prepare and submit monthly progress claims with supporting evidence.
- Issue contractual notices for delays, access issues, variations, and extensions of time within required timeframes.
- Review and approve subcontractor claims and invoices.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and correspondence for audit and dispute protection.
Program, sequencing & delivery planning
- Develop and maintain the project program and sequencing of works.
- Ensure all stakeholders work to the latest issue of drawings, instructions, and program.
- Identify risks or delays early and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate access, inspections, testing, hold points, and client approvals.
- Measure actual progress against program and adjust resources as required.
Resourcing & procurement
- Forecast labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor requirements.
- Ensure the project is adequately resourced to meet program and milestones.
- Coordinate procurement schedules and manage long-lead items.
- Monitor utilisation and efficiency to stay on budget and schedule.
- Support Supervisors with work packs, daily/weekly targets, and sequencing direction.
Skills & experience:
- 5+ years' experience in construction or civil project delivery.
- Strong commercial and contractual understanding, including claims and notices.
- Experience developing and maintaining construction programs.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Confident communicator with clients, subcontractors, and field teams.
- Competent with construction management systems and basic financial reporting.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
