Position InformationNarranga Public School serves families in the western part of Coffs Harbour on the NSW Mid-North Coast. We have over 690 students, who are drawn from a range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. The school's Family Occupation and Education Index is 122, with 127 students from an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background, and 100 students for whom English is an additional language or dialect.
Equity funds received by the school are used primarily to employ staff to directly improve student outcomes. A team of teachers and support staff provide high quality, comprehensive educational programs. They are supported by parents and overseen by a professional large executive team, led by the principal.
The school curriculum provides a balance across all key learning areas, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy. Enrichment and remedial programs are provided to support the individual needs of all students.
Narranga has strong traditions in sporting excellence and will be continuing the High Potential and Gifted Education focus areas across the school in the future. The school's performing arts groups provide creative learning opportunities, while the comprehensive sports program has led to consistent individual and team success at regional and state levels.
The school has the support of an active community which contributes to a range of school programs and has helped develop excellent educational facilities. The school prides itself on the positive culture, high expectations and inclusivity.

- Outstanding strategic leadership that enables student voice, enhances their sense of belonging while leading whole school wellbeing programs and successful behaviour management approaches that fosters a culture of inclusivity. 
- High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education 
- Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs 
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community 
- Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning 
- Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning 
- Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is P3 for 2025.
