About the Role
The Clinical Data Coordinator provides day-to-day project management of the Perron Institute Databank – an initiative to create a valuable dedicated research data infrastructure resource for researchers to, enabling the effective integration of research and clinical care.
This role is offered on a part-time or full-time (0.8 FTE - 1.0 FTE) fixed term basis (12 month initial contract with the possibility of extension).
Key Responsibilities
- Managing ethics and governance approvals including submission and ongoing amendments and correspondence.
- Contributing to ongoing ethics, governance and quality processes including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and audit and risk management activities, identifying implementation and compliance barriers and potential solutions.
- Ensuring that all relevant licences and permissions are obtained for use of validated tools within the databank, including Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).
- Training and credentialing of study team, including investigators, contributing clinicians and wider study team members.
- Providing study information and obtain informed consent from patients.
- Designing and implementing clinical workflows, including supporting clinicians with completion of core data Case Report Forms (CRFs) during patient appointments.
- Responding to queries from stakeholders including patients, clinicians, clinic staff, researchers and management and liaising with collaborators and providers including WA Health (REDCap).
- Administrative tasks to support research projects, including data entry, validation and site file maintenance.
- Production of project newsletters, updates, presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Coordination of consumer involvement and engagement activities on behalf of Perron Institute.
- Contribution to budget management for the project and funding applications.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification, preferably in a health sciences field (nursing or allied health qualification desirable).
- Highly developed organisation and communication skills.
- Project management experience.
- Proven clinical research experience, including within a participant-facing role.
- Experience with clinical and clinical research data management, including collection, analysis, validation and monitoring.
- Experience with clinical research databases (e.g. RedCAP) and knowledge of research software commonly used in qualitative and quantitative analysis, including Electronic Data Capture (EDC).
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP) and principles regarding conduct of clinical research, including governance processes.
- Experience with ethics and governance submissions.
- Ability to work with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
