About the Role
The Clinic Clerk & Receptionist is responsible for providing professional and high quality customer service and clerical services for the Perron Institute Clinics.
This role is offered on a part-time or full-time (0.8 FTE - 1.0FTE) fixed term basis (12 month initial contract with the possibility of extension).
Key Responsibilities
- Reception duties including greeting patients in clinic and taking telephone enquiries.
- Arranging patient appointments, cancellations and follow ups as required.
- Administration tasks including managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, coordinating the collation of medical records, photocopying and filing.
- Liaising with Medical staff, private rooms, hospital staff, General Practitioners and patients as required.
- Assisting with processing incoming referrals to the clinical service and entering required information into the Genie Patient database.
- Use of the Genie Patient database for referrals, patient and clinical information.
- Preparation of clinic lists, and files as directed.
- Setting up clinical rooms for Clinical service, as well as ensuring reception and waiting areas are presented professionally.
- Patient billing, both Medicare and private health funds.
- Preparing patient files at the end of clinics in readiness for Medical Typist.
- Liaising with clinical laundry service on a weekly basis and coordinate transport and interpreter services as required.
- Co-ordinating transport and interpreter services as required.
Skills and Experience
- Previous administration experience, or relevant qualification.
- Highly developed organisation and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
- Ability to operate independently with a high level of initiative.
Proficient IT skills and adept in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with care.
- Previous experience in a clinical or medical setting would be highly regarded.
