About the Role

We are excited to present an outstanding opportunity in Ormeau, South Queensland, for our QTMP project. We are looking for a Senior Planner who will play a pivotal role in preparing comprehensive plans, schedules, and work method statements for tenders and project initiatives. This role may also encompass estimating and various related tasks as directed by the project. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed project programs and baseline schedules on time, in consultation with estimators, for tenders related to DTI Infrastructure Projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with subcontractors and estimating team members to develop optimal schedules and plans for the project.
  • Review subcontractors' construction programs and other third-party schedules against the master project program, assessing their impacts.
  • Create realistic project schedules for each job, taking into account project complexity and client requirements. Identify schedule-related risks and opportunities during this process and review with the Bid Manager and/or Estimating Manager prior to submission.
  • After project award, convert estimated plans and schedules to "Approved for Construction" status by collaborating with Project Managers and Area Managers. Continuously identify schedule-related risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor and provide Project and Construction Management with summaries, forecasts, and exception reporting to ensure effective project execution.
  • Assess the effects of deviations from the project program as early as possible, facilitating timely evaluations and actions by Project and Construction Management.
  • Maintain a master resource histogram detailing all regional projects, identifying trade resource requirements, and allocating specific project staff accordingly.
  • Gather client feedback to enhance and continually improve business systems in alignment with their needs.
  • Contribute to decision-making regarding work practices that aim to improve quality, increase productivity, and reduce costs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must hold a degree or associate diploma, along with a postgraduate qualification and extensive relevant industry experience in the engineering field.
  • Familiarity with construction work practices and processes is required.
  • Exceptional communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of estimating and project management procedures, as well as a willingness to adhere to DTI's procedures, is necessary.
  • Proficiency in using Primavera P3e and/or P6 project management and scheduling software is needed to meet planning requirements.
  • The ability to read and understand engineering drawings is required.
  • Experience in industrial trades within process plants would be an advantage.
  • High level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
