NES Fircroft are currently recruiting for an experienced individual in the power and renewables industry to lead one of the most ambitious clean energy transformations in Western Australia's history. Our client's project is a multi-billion-dollar investment in connecting communities, unlocking renewable generation, and driving the state's decarbonisation goals. You'll shape the strategic direction, drive portfolio development excellence, and ensure delivery of projects that will power WA for generations.

Your role

Your impact will be far-reaching. Reporting directly to the Executive Manager – Energy Transition & Sustainability and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will:

  • Set the vision for transmission expansion and ensure alignment with State and Federal energy and emissions goals.
  • Lead the orchestration of complex, large-scale transmission projects that will power WA for decades.
  • Secure funding and influence policy, engaging with government, regulators, and industry to drive outcomes.
  • Oversee Portfolio optimisation and assurance, ensuring programs are on time, on budget, and compliant.
  • Build and inspire high-performing teams, driving a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven leadership in delivering large-scale transmission or generation infrastructure projects.
  • Strategic capability to navigate complexity, shape policy, and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of decarbonisation drivers, electricity markets, and infrastructure delivery.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills – from boardrooms to project teams.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related fields (postgraduate highly regarded).
  • Ability to lead programs of work that run simultaneously.

The Clean Energy Link program is one of Western Australia's most significant energy infrastructure investments; a multibillion dollar endeavour. It's designed to expand the transmission network, connecting new renewable generation, storage facilities, and large-scale customers to the Southwest Interconnected System. This multi-year program is critical to achieving WA's 2030 and beyond decarbonisation targets, enabling cleaner, more reliable energy for communities across the state. Through strategic partnerships with government, regulators, and industry, the Clean Energy Link program will accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future while delivering long-term economic and environmental benefits.
