The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Vehicle Technical Officer to join our Vehicle Safety and Standards Branch in Kelmscott.
In this dynamic role, you will provide expert technical and policy advice to staff at Vehicle Examination Centres, industry professionals, and members of the public. You will be responsible for assessing and approving complex vehicle modifications, conducting vehicle inspections, and issuing special movement permits for vehicles that fall outside standard compliance. Your analytical skills will be essential in researching and developing policy, operational guidelines, and standards that shape vehicle safety and compliance across the state. Additionally, you will liaise with national and state stakeholders including the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts (DITRDCA), vehicle manufacturers, and government bodies to ensure alignment with Australian Design Rules and relevant legislation.

This is a
Full-Time Permanent
opportunity to work a nine (9)-day fortnightly with flexible or fixed hours work option available.
The successful applicant or applicants assessed as suitable through this process may receive further offers of employment (fixed term or permanent) in this or similar roles for a period of twelve (12) months from date of first appointment.
