Qualifications & experience

  • Trade qualified automotive background essential - Mechanic. [Applicants must have the required qualifications to be considered.]
  • Minimum 2 years post qualification trade experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out diagnostics, service, repairs and maintenance on most makes of vehicles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a small team.
  • Possess strong communication skills and demonstrate good housekeeping.
  • Own tools - mandatory.
  • Current Australian Diver License - mandatory.
  • Immediate start.
  • Applicants must be physically in Australia and must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold a Permanent Residency Visa.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Inspect and repair a wide range of vehicles.
  • Perform routine vehicle servicing.
  • Vehicle diagnosing.
  • Write detailed job cards.
  • Communicate with other mechanics and with customers.
  • Complete test drives of customer vehicles.
  • Use power, machine and hand tools safely.
  • Follow all motor vehicle repair shop regulations and standards.
  • Capacity and willingness to supervise and support apprentice mechanics and less experienced team members.
