This is a twelve (12) fixed term full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency.
Champion Bay Senior High School (CBSHS) is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Teacher to join their friendly Student Services team to support their work in providing the students and staff at the school with a comprehensive range of interventions and supports in 2026.

The Location and Community
The City of Greater Geraldton (CGG) is one of 9 regions of WA and has much to offer in terms of sport, culture and tourism. With a population of approximately 40,000, the CGG covers an area of approximately 472,000 square kilometres and includes the towns of Mullewa and Walkaway. Apart from the significant sporting and cultural activities on offer, Geraldton itself is renowned for its quality lifestyle. Geraldton is the centre of the WA rock lobster industry along with the productive agricultural region that extends to the north, south and east of the city. The Role
This role will suit someone who is highly motivated, relationship-focused and passionate about creating a caring and exciting learning environment that supports staff and students to be their best selves.

The main aspects of the role will include:

  • Deputise and support for Student Services Managers as required
  • Complex Behaviour Support Coordinator - In this role, they will work with school leaders to develop connected and tiered systems and approaches including:

  • using data to identify and plan for universal, targeted and intensive supports in the areas of learning, wellbeing and behaviour

  • developing clear systems and processes that consider the needs of all students
  • reducing teacher workload pressures.

  • Conduct Home visits as required to assist with student planning and attendance (Badged attendance officer).

  • Oversee the Student Leadership program in consultation.
  • Respond to requests for behaviour support as required
  • Oversee whole school positive wellbeing events such as RUOK day, good standing events etc. in consultation
  • Excursion, incursion and event paperwork
  • Maintenance of Good standing data and information to whole school.
  • Participate in and advise on the effectiveness of Tier 1, 2 and 3 interventions strategies/programs.
  • Case management of students requiring Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions.
  • Provide Gatekeeper assessment as required
  • Support the re-entry process of students following suspension
  • Assembly Support in consultation.
  • Other duties as determined in consultation with the relevant Associate Principal or Senior School Mangement.

Teachers and school administrators employed at
Champion Bay Senior High School
in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of
$2 000
(pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
