About The Role

As Welfare Manager, you'll lead a team delivering welfare services to detainees, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and access to support. You'll drive compliance, oversee case management, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to uphold a high standard of care and service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading welfare assessments, case planning, and service delivery

  • Supporting vulnerable individuals and responding to incidents appropriately

  • Managing reporting, documentation and stakeholder engagement

  • Promoting an inclusive, respectful and safe facility environment

  • Ensuring services align with legislative, policy and contractual obligations

To be successful in this role:

You're an experienced leader with a strong background in welfare, community services, or case management. You demonstrate empathy, professionalism and a calm approach in complex or high-pressure situations.

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare, or Human Services

  • Proven experience in team leadership and complex case management

  • Strong stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of legislation, ethical standards, and risk management

  • First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain)

  • Valid Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain)
