The Independent Primary School Heads of Australia (IPSHA) is an Incorporated body of Heads of independent primary schools throughout Australia. It provides professional support for its members and their teachers through ongoing learning opportunities and collegiality. IPSHA has the capacity to organise numerous educational, cultural, spiritual and sporting events for children in its schools.

On the national political stage, IPSHA has a voice of influence as a member of peak educational bodies such as the Australian Primary Principals Association. IPSHA provides access to an Australian wide collegial network of independent primary school educators and leaders.

About the Role

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for supporting education?

IPSHA is seeking a skilled and proactive National Finance Officer to manage and report on financial operations across our national and state branches.

Travel may be required for an annual Treasurer Staff Engagement Day.

This role requires discretion, initiative, and a commitment to maintaining IPSHA's financial integrity.

Tasks & responsibilities

· Maintain IPSHA's financial records in MYOB, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.

· Lead the annual audit process and prepare financial reports for the Board, Finance Risk Audit Committee, and State Treasurers.

· Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, BAS and superannuation lodgements.

· Provide financial support for IPSHA events and biennial conferences.

· Support State Branch Treasurers and collaborate with the National Treasurer and Executive Officer.

· Lead the transition accounting software from MYOB to XERO.

· Engage and maximise IPSHA's Member Management System and Event Management System to improve efficiencies and the member experience.

Qualifications & experience

· Proven experience in bookkeeping and Xero/MYOB accounting software.

· Degree or certificate in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.

· Strong communication and customer service skills.

· Current Police Check.

· Experience in small teams and professional associations.

· Time management, empathy, and ability to manage multiple finance tasks.

Benefits

The position of IPSHA National Finance Officer is a permanent part time position, where the successful candidate will be able to work in a flexible work from home environment. Permanent part time 15 hours per week (around 0.4 FTE).
