Transition Service Officer - West Kimberley
For over 150 years, our schools, colleges, early learning centres and out of school care programs, have been an integral part of education in Western Australia. The Role
The role of Transition Service Officer - West Kimberley belongs to the Learning Equity team in the Teaching and Learning directorate. We have 5 office campuses across the state and this role will be based at our Broome office.
The Transition Service Officer is responsible for supporting schools in the West Kimberley with engaging with Aboriginal families, providing support and information to Aboriginal families regarding boarding options and supporting the students in their transition to boarding.

Selection Criteria
- Aboriginality is a specification for this position in accordance with Section 50(d), Equal Employment Opportunity Act 1984.
- Understanding of cultural competency research and practice related to school improvement processes.
- Understanding of Aboriginal cultures and Aboriginal communities across Western Australia.
- High level written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive written reports.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively, both in person and remotely.
- Highly developed skills in digital technologies.
