A well-funded, high-activity gold explorer and producer is seeking an experienced Exploration Safety Coordinator to support a large-scale surface exploration program.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment. Rig locations and priorities change frequently to chase the targets that matter most. If you need routine, long lead times, and highly structured systems, this will not suit you. If you enjoy field-based problem solving, variety, and stepping into the middle of operations to lift standards, you will.

The role

You will be the dedicated safety resource for the exploration team.

Your focus is to improve risk controls, strengthen safe systems of work, mentor a junior workforce, and ensure contractor activity is being executed to an industry-accepted standard.

What you'll be doing
  • Improve and maintain the exploration risk register through assessment and collaboration
  • Improve and implement safe systems of work for surface exploration
  • Train and mentor a junior workforce, including inexperienced personnel
  • Monitor drilling contractor activities and equipment deployments
  • Identify gaps in risk controls and ensure compliance with WA regulations
  • Investigate incidents and ensure documentation meets standard
  • Run and document toolbox meetings and safety interactions
  • Verify vehicles and field operations are fit for duty
What we're looking for
  • This is not a "step into safety" role. You must be a safety specialist who can lead in the field and hold the line when it matters.
  • 5+ years experience as a Safety Advisor (or similar)
  • Formal qualification in risk management
  • Strong field presence and the confidence to give firm direction when required
  • Practical, risk-based mindset - able to challenge decisions and improve controls
  • Strong written skills (reports, investigations, toolbox documentation)
  • LV driver's licence
  • Comfortable using MS Office and GPS in the field
