About The Role
The Senior Work Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator provides high-level expertise, advice, and support across a broad range of complex health and safety strategies, initiatives, incidents, hazards, and projects. The role is instrumental in facilitating positive health and safety outcomes across the Department of Justice.
A key responsibility of the Senior WHS Coordinator is to lead and guide a team of Level 5 WHS Coordinators, ensuring the delivery of professional, contemporary, and fit-for-purpose engagement and support to worksites in alignment with relevant regulatory Acts.
The Department of Justice WHS function is accountable for delivering a Strategic Advisory and Assurance service that supports all divisions within the Department. This function upholds compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, associated WHS Regulations, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

Permanent positions
- To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
Qualifications -
Applicants must have possession of or progression towards a relevant Work Health and Safety (WHS) qualification.
Special Conditions - Applicants Must Have
- A current and valid 'C' class drivers' licence or equivalent.
- The availability to do some intrastate travel as it may be required.
