About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Exploration Manager to lead geological field-based activities across our exploration projects located north of Southern Cross, WA. The role is based at our Southern Cross office, working a 12/9 roster ex-Perth to site.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a great communicator, and safety focused. Working both in the field and at our yard in town, this leadership position manages a team of Geologists and Field Assistants predominantly working with RC and DD rigs, along with regional field programs encompassing the full exploration value chain.

This is an extremely rare opportunity to work closely with a proactive leadership team to build Golden Horse into WA's next gold development story, and thus attracts a healthy remuneration package aligned with the Company's growth.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

• Safety Leadership: Acting as the Statutory EM for site activities, the candidate will be accountable for WHS compliance and management onsite
• Operations Management: Supervision and leadership of personnel, ensuring that tasks are appropriately planned, resourced and executed
• Geological Excellence: Maintaining high standards for exploration and resource definition activities, ensuring that safety and quality is prioritised
• Drilling Operations: Overseeing RC and Diamond drill activities from setout through to rehabilitation, along with early stage (auger/aircore) drill programs.
• Collaboration: Working closely with our Perth team, site exploration staff and drilling contractors on a daily basis, along with external consultants
• Exploration Strategy Development & Execution:Active involvement in the delivery of multi-rig resource drill-outs, along with exploration field programs
• Mentoring: With the support of two Senior Geologists, providing leadership and mentoring to a small team of Exploration and Graduate Geologists
• Stakeholder Management:As the Company's key representative in Southern Cross, the candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a positive relationship with key stakeholders in the community

About You

• Degree in Geology, preferably in mining/exploration or applied geology
• Minimum 15 years' experience in Exploration roles, with recent and relevant experience in an onsite senior leadership position
• Able to be appointed as Exploration Manager under applicable WHS legislation
• Current manual C-class driver's licence (HR or 4WD cert highly regarded)
• Senior First Aid and other relevant tickets preferred
• High level of competence in QGIS and Micromine/Leapfrog
• Ability to mentor and lead a diverse team of geologists and field assistants
• Familiarity with relevant legislation and the JORC Code, and its application in exploration best practice
