About Us

Golden Horse Minerals is an ASX-listed exploration & development company focused on unlocking the potential of its gold projects in the highly prospective Southern Cross greenstone belt. With a healthy balance sheet and the largest landholding in the district, we are well placed to execute on our dual strategy of resource definition at our flagship asset Hopes Hill along with numerous greenfields exploration targets further afield.

About the Role

We are seeking motivated Exploration Geologists to assist and execute geological field-based activities across our exploration projects located north of Southern Cross, WA. The role is based at our Southern Cross office, working a 16/12 roster ex-Perth to site.

Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the ideal candidates will be highly motivated, safety focused and have a keen eye for detail. Working both in the field and at our yard in town, these roles are predominantly focused on safely capturing geological data working with RC and DD rigs, along with regional field programs encompassing the full exploration value chain.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Geological Excellence: Maintaining high standards for exploration and resource definition activities, ensuring that safety and quality is prioritised
  • Drilling Operations: Overseeing RC and Diamond drill activities from setout through to rehabilitation, along with early stage (auger/aircore) drill programs
  • Data capture: Ensuring that geological logging and data is completed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner to support decision making
  • Regional Exploration: With the support of senior geologists, undertaking regional mapping, sampling and drilling programs.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with our site exploration staff and drilling contractors on a daily basis, along with external consultants as required

About You

  • Degree in Geology, preferably in mining/exploration or applied geology
  • 2-5 years' experience in Exploration roles within WA, although recent graduates are also welcome to apply for our Graduate roles
  • Current manual C-class driver's licence (HR or 4WD cert highly regarded)
  • Senior First Aid and other relevant tickets preferred
  • Familiarity with LogChief, QGIS and other software packages
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
