About the role

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Fruit and Veg Assistant role is an excellent opportunity to join the dedicated team at STIRLING IGA' in the Northern Suburbs & Joondalup area of Perth, WA. As a full-time position, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the fresh produce section is well-stocked, presented and maintained to the highest standards.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting with the stock management and ordering of fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Ensuring the produce section is kept tidy, clean and visually appealing to customers
  • Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service, offering recommendations and answering queries
  • Placing and unpacking deliveries, rotating stock and maintaining appropriate stock levels
  • Following all health, safety and food hygiene procedures
  • Collaborating with the wider retail team to provide a seamless shopping experience

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a customer service or retail role, preferably in a fresh produce or supermarket environment
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in fresh produce or supermarket retail
  • A genuine passion for fresh, quality produce and an ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Good physical fitness to perform tasks such as lifting, moving and stacking produce
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20kg repeatedly throughout shift
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, enthusiastic and reliable approach to work
  • Must have valid right to work in Australia
