The Venue

Matteo Downtown is your vibrant ristorante located in the heart of the CDB. We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our family at one of the busiest restaurants in the city.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking daily food preparation and fulfilling assigned duties in accordance with the Restaurant's established standards and quality guidelines.
  • Adhering to instructions and recommendations provided by superiors to accomplish daily
  • tasks successfully.
  • Directing food preparation activities and collaborating closely with the executive chef.
  • Creating dishes from our menu and accommodating custom orders.
  • Monitoring food inventory and placing orders when necessary.
  • Incorporating non-traditional ingredients, such as vegan cheese and gluten-free flour, to cater to a broader clientele.
  • Proposing new recipes to revitalise our menus
  • Maintaining a hygienic cooking station and sterilising equipment.
  • Ensuring the sanitation and readiness of cooking stations with the necessary tools.
  • Preparing and storing pizza dough.
  • Crafting various food sauces.
  • Managing supply orders, maintaining inventory, and developing budgets to ensure
  • profitable food costs.
  • Training other cooks in the food preparation process to ensure consistency across all meals.
  • Conducting quality checks on food before it is served to guests.
  • Performing routine maintenance on kitchen equipment.
  • Collaborating with staff members on menu items.
  • Diplomatically resolving customer complaints.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area.
