Dark Mofo is Tasmania's iconic midwinter festival of art, music, food and noise, pushing boundaries and bringing extraordinary experiences to life. We're looking for Operations Managers to support the delivery of the 2026 festival. This role is all about being on the ground, leading a team, solving problems as they arise and making sure the festival runs smoothly during the busiest times.

The Gig
  • Lead and support operations teams to deliver projects to the highest standard.
  • Ensure safety and compliance standards are upheld across all projects.
  • Act as a key link between project teams and festival leadership.
  • Provide practical support and guidance to teams managing site-specific issues.
  • Assist with risk assessment, mitigation and emergency preparedness planning.
  • Monitor festival sites and respond quickly to operational challenges.
  • Offer feedback and recommendations to improve onsite delivery and efficiency.
The You
  • Solid experience working in festivals, events or large-scale arts environments.
  • Highly organised with strong time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator who can liaise across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Hands-on problem solver who can adapt quickly under pressure.
  • Experience in event operations, production and coordination.
  • Understanding of safety, compliance and risk management practices.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Reliable, proactive and flexible with the hours and pace of festival delivery.
