Production Manager

G.James Glass and Aluminium is Australia's leading integrated glass and aluminium manufacturer and contractor. Our privately owned, family company employs over 2000 people with operations throughout Australia.

Our Woodridge Windows & Doors branch provides sales, fabrication and installation of aluminium windows and doors to the residential and commercial construction markets. We are seeking an experienced, focused and organised Production Manager to oversee our people, planning, scheduling and manufacturing processes.

The Role: Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for safe and efficient planning and manufacture of accurate quality customer windows and doors orders in full and on time - including:

• People leadership and management – labour planning, supervision, inductions, training, workplace health and safety, adherence to company policies and procedures
• Factory management – workflow efficiency, quality assurance, minimising waste, stock control, safety, machine operation and maintenance requirements, dispatch / logistics, housekeeping, storage
• Administrative tasks – order documentation, communicating with customers, production schedules / meeting deadlines

The Person: To be successful in this role it is essential that you are a self-driven person possessing the following skills, experience and attributes:

• Previous operational management and leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
• Glass & Glazing / Window fabrication (or related industry) Trade background or ability to quickly learn technical and product requirements
• Further training in Leadership & Management
• Ability to troubleshoot and implement solutions with a high standard of attention to detail and dedication to a quality product
• Commercially astute and customer focused
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills and experience with ERP/manufacturing systems (Oracle preferred)
