The College is seeking a passionate Science Laboratory Technician, with experience in Chemistry and/or Physics, to support teaching staff and students within the Science Department and to maintain the Science laboratories at the College, with a focus on providing a safe working environment for all.

Commencing in Term 1, 2026, this is a permanent part-time (0.6 FTE) position. Due to staff leave, there is an additional 0.4 FTE available in Semester

Working closely with Science Teachers, this role will assist in the smooth running of the practical components of classes, including:

  • Preparation for classroom practicals (including ATAR Chemistry & Physics)
  • Construction and maintenance of equipment
  • Demonstrating proper use of equipment
  • Disposal of hazardous and biological materials
  • Maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
  • Providing technical support to teachers where appropriate.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques of a relevant qualification
  • Familiarity with the demands of providing lessons support for Chemistry, Physics, Human Biology and Biology at a senior school level.
  • The ability to lead ATAR Chemistry and Physics practical preparation
  • Experience working in an education environment.
  • A current Working with Children card (WWC) or willingness to obtain one
  • A current National Police Certificate
