About the role

As a Senior Assessment Specialist at Australian Retirement Trust, you'll play a pivotal role in providing expert technical advice and resolving complex superannuation matters, particularly around family law and power of attorney cases. You'll be the escalation point for challenging enquiries, coach and mentor team members, and ensure our processes deliver the best outcomes for members. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and driving continuous improvement. Day to Day You'll:

  • Assess the validity of family law court orders and power of attorney documents in line with legislation and fund procedures.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex superannuation enquiries across the business.
  • Provide high-quality, timely technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor Resolutions Specialists, supporting their development and handling of complex cases.
  • Manage and prioritise workloads to ensure service delivery standards are consistently met.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance member outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other business units to resolve issues and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Analyse complex problems, balancing customer needs with business objectives to deliver effective solutions.
  • Support the production of regular business reports by providing insights and identifying trends or risks.
  • Uphold ART's values of courage, empathy, and excellence in all interactions and decision-making.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Brisbane.

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • Advanced stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate complex outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, superannuation legislation and regulations.
  • Experience with family law and power of attorney legislation (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience analysing complex problems and delivering effective, balanced solutions.
  • Experience working with customer groups who require extra support, including knowledge of services for vulnerable members.
  • High resilience and proven ability to manage competing workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills across diverse professional groups.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and supporting team members in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong investigative skills with keen attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Professional behaviour and presentation, upholding organisational values.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial experience in superannuation, insurance, or a similar industry (desirable).
