The Manager (HASS) will also support the development of external assessment instruments for General syllabuses.The position also leads the development of policies related to the senior phase of schooling. In this capacity, the Manager (HASS) has a key leadership role in managing projects and promoting consistent understandings associated with curriculum, teaching and learning, and assessment.For this role, we will consider how well you:
- Provide strategic advice to senior officers on senior phase curriculum, assessment and professional development.* Lead and manage initiatives and projects including:
- review and revision of senior syllabuses
- development of resources to support syllabus implementation
- development of assessment resources to support both school-devised and external assessment.
- Manage and coordinate the work of Principal Education Officers to align with QCAA strategic priorities, including managing
- learning area roles in quality assurance processes
- training QCAA assessors
- Coordinate and prepare correspondence, reports, briefing papers and policy advice in relation to HASS learning area curriculum development and implementation.* Contribute to state, national and international curriculum debates and policy analyses.* Provide expert advice about state, national and international developments in the Humanities and Social Sciences to senior leadership and schools.* Lead research, review and evaluation activities that support and sustain the continuous improvement of HASS syllabuses and resources for the senior phase of schooling.* Establish and maintain strategic and cross-division partnerships across the organisation.* Contribute to a performance management and development culture by overseeing the development and monitoring of Performance and Development Plans (PDPs) for staff and ensuring regular two-way feedback discussions occur between staff and their direct supervisor.
