About the role:

The Project Officer, System Coordination plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, state-supported services that underpin Victoria's health and medical research sector. Working under the direction of the Manager, Research, Strategy and Clinical Trials and within the framework of the Victorian Health and Medical Research Strategy, the Project Officer contributes to strengthening the systems, infrastructure, and partnerships that enable impactful, ethically sound, and governance-compliant research across the state.

Based within Safer Care Victoria, the Project Officer assists in the development and implementation of internal systems and processes that promote research engagement, integration, and capability across the health system. This includes:

  • supporting with overall coordination of the Research, Strategy and Clinical Trials team
  • providing operational and administrative support to statewide services that facilitate research and clinical trials
  • liaison and engagement with stakeholders
  • a broad range of communications including drafting briefs, reports, presentations and general correspondence
  • coordinating meetings and events
  • creating content and updating the Research, Strategy and Clinical Trials webpages

In addition, the Project Officer supports change management initiatives led by the Manager, contributing to the implementation of reforms that enhance the efficiency, quality, and responsiveness of Victoria's research ecosystem.

Through strong organisational skills, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to continuous learning, the Project Officer helps ensure that Victoria's research infrastructure remains responsive, future-focused, and aligned with both state and national priorities.

About you:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as: Business Administration; Public Administration; Science or Health related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of legislation, policies and processes related to research, ethics and governance frameworks.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills with an aptitude for problem solving.
