Role Overview

Our client seeks exceptional Data Cabling Supervisors who excel in the deployment, verification, and activation of fibre optic systems.

Primary Duties

  • Guide and oversee teams of technicians and trainees.
  • Handle safety protocols and regulatory paperwork.
  • Oversee on-site interactions with clients for seamless communication.
  • Prepare essential operational records, including hazard risk assessments, vehicle checks, and time logs.
  • Relay daily updates on project status, challenges, modifications, potential risks, and key details to all involved parties.
  • Engage with clients to deliver outstanding service.
  • Manage installations involving patch panels, networking switches, servers, and various ICT hardware.
  • Perform fibre optic cabling setups.
  • Identify and resolve faults through thorough diagnostics and testing.
  • Execute splicing techniques, including ribbon methods.
  • Conduct Fluke-based evaluations.
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of network architectures.

Required Qualifications and Background

  • At least 3 years in communications or cabling roles.
  • Essential: ACMA Open Cable Registration with endorsements for optic fibre and structured cabling.
  • Desirable: Valid electrical licence for Victoria.
  • Proficient in data centre protocols and standard industry guidelines.
  • Telecommunication Certificate III required.

Highly valued: NV1 security clearance.

Advantageous: Certifications from vendors.

Must have: Construction white card.
