Risk & Compliance Consulting

Strong risk management and compliance governance prevent violations that threaten operations, reputation, and business relationships. FTI Consulting helps clients navigate these challenges by delivering enterprise-wide governance, risk, and compliance solutions that enhance risk culture and control environments.

Our clients include leading organisations across financial services, government, technology, and regulated industries, as well as regulators and law firms. We help organisations enhance governance, people, process, and technology to mitigate risks including fraud, scams, bribery and corruption, financial crime, regulatory breaches, modern slavery, contract and third-party noncompliance, and cybersecurity threats.

We deliver high-impact solutions, strengthening resilience, mitigating risk, and ensuring compliance in a complex landscape.

Key Areas of Focus

We are looking for an individual with expertise in any of the following areas:

  • Regulatory compliance & risk management-Aligning with APRA, ASIC, ATO, ASX, RBA, ICAC, AUSTRAC, ACCC, OAIC, Fair Work Ombudsman, and state-based anti-corruption commissions.
  • Financial crime, fraud, & scams investigations - Managing AML/CTF risks, sanctions, bribery and corruption, modern slavery, fraud detection, and scam prevention.
  • Regulatory transformation - Helping clients meet evolving regulatory expectations and enforcement actions.
  • Operational resilience & business continuity - Developing frameworks to help organisations anticipate, prepare for, and respond to disruptions, including cyber incidents, supply chain risks, and financial system shocks.
  • Third-party risk management - Managing risks related to sanctions, corruption, modern slavery, cybersecurity, operational resilience, and business intelligence on partners, counterparties, and prospective employees.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will vary depending on your level of experience but may include some of the following:

  • Providing risk and compliance advisory to clients.
  • Developing and implementing operational resilience strategies, including CPS 230 compliance and crisis preparedness.
  • Conducting independent investigations and risk assessments (site visits, interviews, analytics, compliance gap assessments).
  • Leading high-impact projects with senior stakeholders in financial services, gaming, mining, government, telecommunications, construction, retail, and technology.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Mentoring and developing teams in an inclusive and high-performing environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in risk, compliance, or related fields
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and support risk assessments
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and project teams
  • Strong technical expertise in risk frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to develop and lead client presentations and reports
