Bungala Food Services is locally based in Port Augusta, providing tailored food solutions to the elderly and vulnerable people in our community.

About the role:

The opportunity exists for a passionate and suitably qualified Chef or experienced cook to join our kitchen team. The successful applicant will use their cooking experience and organisational skills to prepare a range of food products for our clients in Port Augusta and surrounds. The applicant will work with our kitchen team to ensure the successful delivery of healthy, delicious and nutritious home style meals. A rare opportunity for a Chef to secure a position with great Monday-Friday day shift hours.

Day to day duties include, but are not limited to;

  • Ensure that meals are prepared to cater to dietary requirements and plated in accordance with guidelines.

  • Menu planning and recipe development

  • Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation and cooking techniques in accordance with food safety legislation

  • In conjunction with other chefs, lead and motivate a small team to provide outstanding customer service and quality food for our clients

It is essential that the successful applicant is able to work within a culturally diverse team.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 1 year working as a chef or multiple years as a cook

  • Essential that you are enthusiastic and take pride in delivering the best possible service and quality food for our clients

  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills

  • Must be flexible, reliable and self-motivated

  • A confident team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who has a passion for providing outstanding nutritious home cooked means for our clients

  • National Police Check
