We are looking for a robust and skilled lawyer who is eager to progress their career. This role is primarily focused on general legal practice with a focus on family law, estates and general legal matters. This role is based in our Brisbane CBD and Chermside office. This role offers a pathway to senior and partnership positions for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal advice and representation to clients in diverse legal matters.
  2. Talk to prospective clients and provide efficient solutions to resolve their legal problems.
  3. Draft legal documentation, correspondence and other legal documents as necessary.
  4. Attend court for mentions, interim hearings and final hearings whilst instructing counsel.
  5. Attend mediations and conciliation conferences.
  6. Mentor graduate lawyers and assist them with career growth and progression.
  7. Maintain accurate records, manage deadlines and ensure compliance with legal procedures and regulations.
  8. Commit to providing high-quality legal services and advocating for client's best interest.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 2 year PAE experience in General Practice / Family Law.
  2. Hold a practicing certificate issued by the Queensland Law Society.
  3. Excellent communication (written and oral), negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work independently, manage multiples files simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  5. Proficiency in Smokeball software is preferred.
  6. Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  7. Ability to lead and proactively manage billing and client expectations.
