We're on the lookout for passionate and friendly library professionals to join our client's casual talent pool of a vibrant public library service.  If you enjoy connecting people with knowledge & supporting your community, this is a great opportunity for you.

About the Role

  • Casual shifts available on an ad-hoc basis to support permanent library team
  • Work across the branches within their network
  • Extensive training provided
  • Start date: Early September
  • Hourly rate: $35 per hour plus super Library Assistants & $47per hour plus super for Librarians

What You'll Do

As a Library Assistant or Librarian, you'll play a key role in:

  • Supporting patrons in accessing library services and resources
  • Assisting with programs, events, and activities
  • Helping visitors with technology, digital platforms, and online resources
  • Delivering exceptional customer service across different library locations

About You

We're looking for passionate, adaptable, and community-focused people who:

  • Hold (or are working towards) Library and Information Science qualifications (Qualifying for ALIA membership)
  • Are available for short-term casual engagements and can work across multiple locations
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first mindset
  • Are confident using technology and have solid digital literacy skills
  • Can adapt quickly to new environments and tasks
  • Have experience supervising teams (for Librarian role)
  • Hold a Full Driver's Licence (desirable)
