Overview

Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for a Library Assistant. Contract: 6 months | Immediate Start. Hourly Pay Rate: $45 p/h + Super.

Responsibilities
  • Implements and monitors WHS policies, procedures, and programs
  • Follows safety procedures and reports hazards or incidents immediately
  • Understands and works within Council's Code of Conduct
  • Responds promptly and appropriately to staff and public requests
  • Provides customer service at the library desk and accurate information to patrons
  • Supports delivery of library programs as directed
  • Completes daily tasks including returns, shelving, borrowing, and handling damaged items
  • Assists with reserve lists and collection displays
  • Contributes to themed and new item displays to promote library use
Essential Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in an administration support role within local government or working in a politically sensitive environment
  • Customer Service / Library experience
  • Previous experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway highly regarded
