ABOUT THE ROLE
Barker College is currently seeking to appoint a Library Assistant located at the Secondary School Hornsby Campus. This will be a permanent part-time position Monday to Thursday 12:30pm to 5:00pm during the School Term, and Monday to Friday 10:00am to 3:00pm some School holidays.
Key priorities for the role include:
- Library-centred duties, including circulation and reference desk enquiries, shelving, cataloguing and processing of library resources
- Assisting with database and systems management, including Accessit, EBSCOhost, ClickView, Wheelers
- Assisting in the development of promotional materials for library events, including digital materials and displays
- Supporting library teaching staff in the running of library programs and initiatives where needed
- Supervision in the Library and Senior Study Hub
ABOUT YOU
As the successful applicant, you will be an enthusiastic, collaborative library professional with a service-oriented approach and an ability to work in a large, dynamic co-educational high school library. You possess refined interpersonal skills, are highly organised with the ability to multitask and balance competing priorities. You will be committed to ongoing learning and professional development to stay abreast of current library and information trends and best practices.
