Clinical Support Nurse (0.4 EFT – 16 hrs/week)About the Role
This unique dual role combines responsibilities as a Clinical Support Nurse and a Clinical Nurse Educator, providing a dynamic opportunity to influence clinical care and workforce development at Yarrawonga Health. The successful candidate will work closely with nursing teams across Acute, Aged Care and Community Services, focusing on mentoring early-career nurses and coordinating clinical education programs.
As Clinical Support Nurse, the role supports graduate and novice nurses by providing supervision, guidance, and hands-on support in the clinical environment. As Clinical Nurse Educator, the position leads the development, coordination, and delivery of clinical education programs, annual competency assessments, and professional development activities for nursing staff.
This position is ideal for an experienced and passionate nurse who thrives on supporting others and driving excellence in clinical practice and education.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support graduate and novice nurses in clinical areas
- Assist in developing clinical competence and confidence among staff
- Contribute to identifying learning needs and supporting clinical education
- Promote and uphold the highest standards of person-centred care
About the Role
As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will coordinate and lead the delivery of education and training across all clinical areas including Acute, Aged Care, and Community Services. You will work closely with the Director of Clinical Services and be supported by Clinical Support Nurses to plan, schedule and facilitate education programs, mandatory training, and clinical competencies.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate a comprehensive in-service training calendar
- Facilitate the annual clinical competency assessment program
- Identify professional development needs and training opportunities
- Support clinical staff in meeting mandatory and best-practice requirements
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth
You are a passionate educator and experienced clinician with a commitment to supporting others through education, development, and clinical supervision. You bring strong interpersonal skills, sound clinical knowledge, and a collaborative mindset.
Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or equivalent)
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (or working towards)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience across varied settings
- Postgraduate qualification in Education or Leadership
- Previous experience in a Clinical Educator or Clinical Support role
- Demonstrated teaching and mentoring skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Understanding of the National Health Reform, National Standards, and Aged Care Standards
- Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
- A commitment to confidentiality and patient advocacy
