Our client is a leader in the utilities sector. More than traditional services, they are innovators in their field and seeking a progressive senior financial accountant to cover a leave vacancy for several months, commencing in November.

This role is very much a hands-on senior accounting position, covering the day-to-day financial accounting and supporting year-end requirements. Key responsibilities include

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close process in collaboration with the Business Performance Management team and other key stakeholders
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of financial and non-financial information to shareholders
  • Prepare Audit and Risk Committee accounting papers
  • Undertake financial accounting month end activities, journals, intercompany eliminations, balance sheet reconciliation preparation
  • Prepare tax effect accounting calculations and liaise with tax team to ensure accurate accounting of key tax positions
  • Advise business stakeholders on key accounting treatments to optimise commercial outcomes.

You will need to be collaborative, a clear communicator and someone who can engage well with stakeholders. The team values a positive & approachable personality who's happy to roll up their sleeves and work through systems and processes. Being tertiary qualified in accounting or commerce with CA/CPA. SAP experience is ideal or similar ERP in a medium/large organisation.

This position requires a November commencement and handover.
