Senior Financial Accountant | Freight-Forwarding

Salary: $100–120K + super

Senior Financial Accountant
.

This is a permanent, full‑time opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives on variety, takes ownership of the finance function, and enjoys working closely with a collaborative team.

You'll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and insight—directly supporting the Finance Manager and broader leadership team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end‑to‑end Accounts Payable & Receivable, including invoicing, payments, and debtor follow‑up
  • Process international and multi‑currency transactions
  • Oversee credit card reconciliations and expense management
  • Conduct cash flow monitoring, analysis, and forecasting
  • Perform multi‑currency bank reconciliations
  • Deliver month‑end reporting, including P&L and variance analysis
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain prepayment registers
  • Prepare and lodge BAS/GST returns
  • Support annual budgets and financial forecasts
  • Oversee payroll compliance (superannuation, leave entitlements)
  • Strengthen internal financial controls and processes
  • Assist with CargowiseOne financial module implementation and use
  • Liaise with external accountants as required
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision‑making

Requirements:

  • CPA/CA qualified (or working towards)
  • Minimum 3 years' accounting/finance experience (logistics, freight forwarding, or related industries preferred)
  • Proficiency in CargowiseOne (essential)
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
