The Director of the Healthcare Purchasing Model leads and manages the purchasing model functions that drive the production of Hospital and Health Service Finance and Activity Schedules contained with annual service contracts, valued at over $25bn per annum.
What you'll do
- Set the strategic direction for the purchasing model (system), ensuring data models and information contained within is structured, classified, retrievable, and safeguarded to protect its longevity.
- Develop data model standards that facilitate the long-term transparency of funding allocation and oversee the in-year allocation of activity and funding into the model in a way that meets national funding expectations and state requirements.
- Direct and oversee best practice assurance and audit processes are adhered to in relation to the processing of amendments and the integrity of the purchasing model is maintained.
- Provide ongoing advice and education to stakeholders across the public health sector in understanding the purchasing model by translating highly technical modelling into clear and concise outputs for non-technical audiences.

- Direct the development and maintenance of data standards and published specification sheets to facilitate transparency in funding allocation and budget vs cost monitoring.
- Lead the annual development of the Queensland Efficient Price that informs the price new services will be purchased within a fiscal Develop an annual specification sheet that facilitates transparency.
- Lead the annual conversion of activity-based funding targets, educating stakeholders in relation to conversion methodologies.
- Provide direction to the development of data models that monitor activity against the Queensland Funding Model targets and define and publish the methodology for annual reconciliation of activity against target.

About you
- Demonstrated experience working as a senior healthcare leader, driving strategic direction for a portfolio of work with evidence of delivery of outcomes.
- More than five years' experience working with healthcare funding, purchasing and/or commissioning models within a healthcare organisation.
- Experience working with financial and healthcare activity data with the ability to report, model, forecast, predict, confirm, and draw conclusions from analysis.
- Exceptionally strong communication skills, both written and verbal with a demonstrated ability to develop and respond to executive level correspondence in tight
- Demonstrated ability to manage a myriad of projects that may run across teams, within times, scope and budget.
